10 Best 64-bit Applications for Windows

In computer architecture, 64-bit integers, memory addresses, or other data units are those that are at most 64 bits wide. This architecture is widely supported, mostly because of low price of RAM memory and very good performance for native 64-bit applications, compared to 32-bit ones.

64-bit systems supports and works with more than 4 GB of RAM memory. Compared to 32-bit systems which can work with little more than 3 GB – no matter how much do you have physical modules on your motherboard.

10 Best Free 64-bit Apps for Windows OS

1.) Mozilla Firefox x64 – 64-bit version of Mozilla Firefox. Works really great and fast on 64-bit systems. Much faster and better from my experience than “original” 32-bit version. Bad thing is that it doesn’t support (of course) 32-bit plug-ins like Flash because it currently doesn’t exist for x64 windows systems.

2.) Mozilla Thunderbird – From my experience it works better and faster on 64-bit systems, but not much faster than Firefox for x64. Anyway, this is great and a “must-have” application for all 64-bit system users. Of course, it’s the most popular free e-mail client for Windows.

3.) Comodo Firewall – Great free firewall application for your 64-bit Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. Believe me, this firewall works like it’s commercial! All necessary functions and protection features are included into free version. Works just great on x64 platforms too.

    JKDefrag is now distributed as MyDefrag, by the way.

    * HWMonitor
    * WinRAR
    * UT2004

    they all suck honestly other than daemon tools wich is pointless cause its easier to decompress

    firefox 64 dosent have flash support
    shredder isnt any faster than Thunderbird cause its a simple program
    firewalls are just a nuisance an don't seem to help anyways, avg free is all you really need
    paint.net and xnveiw lets kill two birds with one stone, the gimp which is now 64
    vlc is the best media player out there cause it plays all (p.s. did you know it will play those dvd iso's you have as iso files?)

    and if you want a great new file browser check out xplorer2 lite
    (the lite version is free but only 32 bit i think) the paid version is both 32 and 64

    but if you want a truly nice windows ap to make that bad ass machine you think you have start a lot faster get jockersoft startup delayer
