Symbolic Price for Quality Community – ProBlogger Case

Symbolic Price for Quality Community – ProBlogger Case

You have probably heard that popular blogger in Darren Rowse has recently opened a new professional community on the attractive domain name problogger.com. In this article, I will try to tell you why you should or shouldn’t join this community.

Also, I will tell you why this community model is good and quality at the first place. I should note you that I am not still a member to this community, I will join for sure next month. Right now, I really do not have a time for that. I have contacted a few members of this service to provide you this article.

Why to Pay Monthly for Joining a Community?

You have probably notice that this community is payable. Right now the price is $1.95 per month and may be a little higher in the following days. Now, you probably ask yourself why to join this community when there are a lot of other forum boards in this related niche?

When you think about it a little, this is not a high price as you probably could think. And there’s why:

  • Quality of Service – Providing a monthly payment to the members, this community automatically may improve the quality of the service in general. Posting a quality articles, sharing your own thoughts and experiences and meet some new friends or partners. Also, you might learn something new and valuable through it.
  • Less Spammers – Of course, because the forum is in the private state and paid, there is a low possibility for someone to spam the community with unnecessary links, information or services. A lot of popular forum boards on the internet have this problem.
  • Active Members – You probably expect someone to be active when he or she pay for something – right? This can not be related to all members, but for sure the most members on this private forum board should be active.
  • Related Niche – I really like that this community is based on a good and quality niche. Related after all to blogging and web development. I think that this community should be a leader in this area in the future.

Darren Rowse says:

I’m aware that the idea of paying to join a forum is not going to suit everyone and I don’t pretend that it will appeal to all – but there are a number of reasons I’ve taken the decision to put a $1.95 monthly subscription fee on it.

Of course it wouldn’t appeal to all targeted audience. But this is a way you can get a quality community, learn some new information, meet some interesting people in a similar nice – all of that and more for a reasonable price.

A price of ~$2 is a low price, you have to admit this. I think that this price is a most reasonable, for more reasons:

  • Less then $25.00 per year – A price less of $25.00 per year is attractive and cheap after all, regarding to quality of service this community should provide to the members.
  • Lower than average hosting costs – I am very glad that Darren has not place a higher price for it, at least for start. An average sharing hosting payment is from $4.00 to $8.00 per month. And we are talking here about related potential members which usually pays for their own blog or a website hosting.

Will you Join Up?

At this point they have had over 1300 members to this community. I think it is a really impressive result because the service is old just a couple of days for now.

A good thing to know is that you will be able to unsubscribe your PayPal payment on this forum if you do not want to use it anymore. Look the below video to see some valuable information from Darren Rowse.

At the end, I would like to tell you that if you are a regular reader of ProBlogger blog, you should definitely join this community. Because of the unique model and paid style, this can guarantee you quality of the overall service for sure.

I will join this community in a following days for sure. So you should try it too!
