How to Improve your Blog Traffic Easily

July 23rd, 2009 | Categories: SEO and Marketing, Web Site Tips

Over couple of months, I’ve tried a lot of ways and techniques to improve my blog traffic completely for free. I didn’t use almost any other commercial advertisement techniques. So, I’ve managed to improve my blog traffic from the 3.577 visitors in the December 2008 to 57.713 absolute unique visitors in the July 2009.

So, that’s more than 1500% traffic boost for the first 6 months. I think that’s a very good improvement. That’s not all, my blog traffic improve constantly – every month I’ve managed to keep the traffic up from month to month. In this article, I’ll try to show you how do I managed that.

Bashbosh.com Traffic Stats

The results are collected from my Google Analytics account. All values are based on the absolute unique visitors to my blog. According to Google Analytics stats of course.

Yes, But How do You do That?

Believe me, there’re so many ways to improve your blog traffic. With none of them you won’t get an improvements like doing these techniques I’m going to show you.

This is not going to be an easy job for you, don’t expect to read how to boost your traffic in one day or month! That’s not going to happen for sure. Well, it’s possible but you probably won’t get any improvements in the next month. So, I’ll also tell you how did I managed to improve traffic to the blog each month!

But, before you continue the reading, It’s important for you to know the basic things required to get a successful traffic over and over again on your blog:

  • Patience – One of the most important things here is the patience. Without the patience I’m sure that you won’t be able to create a constant traffic to your blog. It needs to take some time before your blog gets productive and functional – specially at the beginning.
  • Persistence – This is the second most important thing when you decide to open and publish your blog on the internet. Always try to work things out, you should never quit it. Your hard work will be rewarded for sure – sooner or later.

So, let’s go to the juicy part of the post. Read carefully to learn something valuable.

How Did I Boost Traffic to my Blog?

There’re so many things that effect on these improvements (I’m talking about more than 1500% improvements) from the very beginning under new domain name and blogging system. But there’re some most important factors and things you should know. Note that I talk this from my own experience!

Hard Work

I’ve really worked so hard to make all things work just the way I want them to. I’m talking about the blog setup, changes and post research over the internet. Every now and then I change, update or improve something on my blog. This of course take so much precious time, but It wouldn’t be possible without the hard work!

Visitors Before Anything Else

The visitors are the main key factor for a blog to be successful on the internet. You won’t do anything if you don’t care about your visitors for sure.Try to answer to all their questions in the comments and always try to get more visitors. You should never, and I really mean never distract your valuable visitors in any way. Most bloggers and webmasters write only for money, don’t  do that.

It’s All About Content

The blog content (articles and posts) is also one of the most important factors for the blogs on the internet. Think about it, you shouldn’t get any visitors if they don’t have something to read on your blog – right? Well, it’s not all about the plain reading of your content. You should write down a quality and helpful contents if you want to success. Visitors really like to read something that may be useful or helpful for them.

Search Engine Optimization

Since over 80% of all traffic of this blog comes from the main search engines on the internet. Search Engines gives you the most relevant visitors to your blog. And it’s completely free and for sure the best way to get some top-quality traffic to your blog. The blog search engine optimization is for sure the key factor, at least for this blog. But here, you should specially take care about your post titles and keywords.

Bash Bosh Traffic Source

On the below chart, you can see the exact traffic source to this blog. Showing you the real power of the search engines – among other advertisement and promotion techniques. I should note also that most of the traffic was from the Google. Other search engines doesn’t give me the right results.

Final Thoughts

You can see that I’ve not posted any “quick way to improve traffic” or “free quick guide for blog traffic”. There’re so many places on the internet where you should find the similar posts, articles or even whole getting traffic quickly services – well, this is not possible in the practice for sure.

Getting a traffic to your blog is not an easy job for sure. But, once you get the reasonable amount of the traffic you’ll feel much better. You’ll be open to the new opportunities and make some new friends too. Of course, don’t forget that increasing the traffic means more money for you – but that shouldn’t be your primary goal for sure.

I’ll be happy to hear your experiences and what do you think about all this. Feel free to post your question or response using our comment form just below this post.

I had almost given up after about one year but fortunately I did not. Now I ranking no.2 for some my main keywords and its getting better.
