Today, I am going to describe you this policy on the Twitter. Letting you to know why you should or should not automatically follow your Twitter followers. I have writing this article from my own experience. I have used this policy on my Twitter account trying to get more followers – but what do I get in back from it in the practice?
This is a question I am trying to answer you here. Is it really useful to have a auto-follow feature enabled for your account? Is it good, productive and what actually do you get from it?
Auto Follow Enabled
Below, I am going to list what do you get with an auto-follow option enabled.
- Spam, Spam and more Spam – Yes, you would get more and more spam messages every day on your Twitter account. This cause a much less functionality of your Twitter account for sure.
- More Followers… but what’s a point – With this option enabled you get more potential followers, that is a true. But what do you actually get from them? I would say nothing! Most of them will try to spam your Twitter timeline and your direct messages with their own requests, offers and products.
- Compatibility problems – If you build up an impressive number of people you follow, this may cause your third-party application, related to your Twitter account to crush and not work correctly. This problem is specially noted on some third-party applications for the iPhone.
- Follow unwanted people – With auto-follow enabled, you would get this effect. To follow people you do not want to follow. This is specially related to people who does not speak a language you understand. But why do you want to follow someone when you do not understand anything they say – right?
With an auto-follow feature enabled, you wont get a real Twitter functionality and productivity for sure. This service is created to attract people to follow you, to be a part of the community, share a thoughts and opinions. Not to spam other people and be filled with unnecessary and unwanted messages messages daily!
Most Twitter users which enable this feature thinks they’ll get a thousands of followers in relatively short time! There is no service on the internet which allows you that!
Auto Follow Disabled
Below, you will find a list which show you what do you get with an auto-follow feature disabled.
- Get more functionality – With this function disabled, you will get a more functionality and productivity of your own Twitter account and overall service of it. Making a connections between people you really want to follow and to allow them to send you a real messages through this service.
- Less Followers – Yes, you might get a less followers by disabling this feature on your account. But when you think a little, why do you want someone to follow you if they requires you to follow them? Anyway, anyone who want to follow you, they would do it – with or without this option enabled.
- Spam-Free – With disabling the auto-following function, you would be practically a spam-proof. Unwanted followers can not send you a spammed direct messages with this function disabled.
On most popular Twitter accounts, the auto-follow function is disabled. And yet, they get thousands of quality followers. Use this service for what is it created for and you will enjoy in it definitely.
Only a real Twitter accounts have this function disabled, and only they would use a Twitter correctly. And yes, only from those people you can get something useful! Keep this in mind!
Final Thoughts
As from now, I have decided to drastically unfollow a Twitter followers I do not want to follow. So, I have officially disabled this feature on my own Twitter account.
I have done that only because one thing – to use a Twitter more effectively. I like this service and I would not let anyone to distract me using it. And from now, I would post more quality tweets (not auto-generated) on my account.
Twitter becoming one of the largest and most popular places among spammers. I hate spam, so I have do this because of them too. From now, I would only follow these I want to! I have release that I would get a much more effect with this technique and method for sure.
Anyway, you can still contact me through Twitter, but not through direct messages (if I do not follow you). All you need to do is to type @bashbosh and type your own message which will be forwarded to me.

You know, that automatical following making twitter platform very bad.
But some people use it very smart just follow 50000 of people and get them all followed him back then he just unfollow them, maybe 10000 will unfollow him but he get 40000 follower ;) (john chow did that):|
