Today, I’m going to list you the eight essential application for bloggers and other webmasters. All these applications can be very useful for you, allowing you to do certain things easier and faster on your computer and a blog. I’ve to say that I use all these applications on my computer.

Below, I’ll list eight essential applications for any blogger you have to use.

1. Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is one of the most popular web browsers on the internet. It’s fully extendable with the addons (aka. Extensions). Because of that, it’s an ideal and great application for the blogging.

Mozilla Firefox is a completely free web browser, available for the Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

2. Windows Live Writer

I use this application a lot. It’s a specialized application, created and developed only for the blogging. You can do much things with this application for sure, specially for the free-hosted blogging systems and services. I use it to write an articles and store them on my computer – allowing me to use some very useful features.

Windows Live Writer is a completely free application, available only for Windows operating systems.

3. SnagIt / HoverSnap

SnagIt is for sure the most effective and professional screen-capturing application available for your computer. Works just great and allows you to use some unique features and options. My absolute recommendation is SnagIt. If you don’t want to spend money on the software, you can download a trial and try it! In the other way, you can use completely free alternative – HoverSnap.

Both applications are available only for the Windows operating systems.

4. Notepad++

I simply can’t get almost any work done without this great and free application. I use it to quickly open and see the text documents and to edit the site files. This free application gives you the opportunity to auto-highlight codes for many programming languages, it’s fast, easy, have huge amount of the options and most important – it’s completely free for anyone!

Notepad++ is an free application available only for the Windows.

5. Digsby

Digsby is a free, multi-functional instant messaging client which allows you to connect on the multiple IM and Social Network services easily from one user-interface. Supports all popular IM services like Windows Live (MSN), Yahoo!, Google Talk, ICQ, AOL/AIM and many others. Additionally supports you to connect to your Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.

It’s a free application, available for the Windows, Linux and Mac OS X platforms.

6. RoboForm / LastPass

RoboForm is the powerful, but commercial password management for your web browser. Giving you opportunity never to forget the passwords for all sites and services on the internet. Also, have free password generator to create strong and powerful passwords.

Free alternative to the RoboForm would be LastPass that stores your passwords online – not on your computer. This one is available for most browsers and systems.

7. AdesClrPicker

This is a very good and free application for any blogger. Allows you to easily find out which colors you may use to design your blog or advertisements on it. It’s very simple, small and very effective free application available only for the Windows operating system.

I also tend to use the ColorZilla – great Firefox extension that allows you to do the same job within a web browser.

8. RSS Bandit

RSS Bandit is a professional and free RSS Feed reader for your desktop. Works with Google Reader and NewsGator Online using direct synchronization! Very advanced and one of the most quality desktop RSS readers currently available on the market. This tool can help you out to read multiple blogs / sites from one interface.

RSS Bandit is available only for Windows platforms.
