Get .EDU and .GOV Backlinks

One of the most important factors for every webmaster or a blogger is a link building or link development. Most of them don’t know why links from the .edu or .gov links are important and good. Getting a few one-way backlinks may give your site more link popularity and rankings most probably.

The biggest benefit to .edu or .gov backlinks is that Google marks these sites as a highly trusted sites. That’s mostly a truth, because these sites would provide you educational (.edu) and government (.gov) information. Also, these domain name extensions can’t be purchased publicly.

How to Get EDU or GOV Backlinks?

Most government and educational sites have a high page-rank from Google. Also, most of them have their own blogs where you can post a comments and get some free backlinks. That’s the way you can use to get some quality links from the trusted .gov or .edu domains.

Way 1: Find Blogs through Google

There’re many methods to get a quality backlink from your website or a blog. The free-way is for sure the most cost-effective way to get some quality backlinks for your site.

To find a blogs through Google, you’ll need to use following syntax.

Find blogs on .edu domain names

blog site:edu

Find Free .gov Blogs on the internet

blog site:gov

Using the above syntax, you’re telling Google to find the sites related to the blog term and using .edu or .gov domain extension. Of course, you can use syntax you want to find a successful blog on these domain name extensions.

Way 2: Buy Them!

Yes, a second method you can try is to buy the links on the .edu websites. I think that shouldn’t work on .gov websites because they’re strictly restricted to the government sites.

Anyway, every now and then someone on the DP Forums post to sell the links from their own .edu websites. Some of them even tries to sell you the permanent reviews on .edu blogs.

Digital Point Forums

Unfortunately, most of these offers are much more expensive than from other sites. That’s because they’re very quality and they’re on the good voice among  bloggers and webmasters through the internet!

Final Thoughts

Well, everything is not good as you think it is. If you’re going to post a comment (and make a backlink from it) on these blogs to get some quality link juice, you’ll need to know the following.

Backlink from the no-follow links are countless and not worth because search engines don’t see these links. Take care to post as much as you can on the blogs which have regular links instead. Unfortunately, almost 99% of these blogs has no-follow attribute attached to their own links.

So, it’s going to be very hard to find one with “no-follow” disabled. Good luck with your link development!

    Yeah i got that method
Just paste the following in the google search and you'll get em:

site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in” “Your Keyword”

    OR

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in” “Your Keyword”

Never found a .gov site taht accepts comments and is do follow, but even a no follow may be worth the two minutes it will take you to comment. One important point – even more important than the whole no follow/follow issue is that the page you are getting the link from is indexed! Lots of people offer link exchanges and your link ends up on a noindex page! Not good Karma!

Some people believe that nofollow links do carry some value. I know you said that they are worthless but is there any way of knowing? I have been trying to find some edu sites that automatically accept comments but it has been hard. Do you think buying edu or gov backlinks is a good idea?

I certainly believe that .edu or .gov sites are great for building your blog with juicy backlinks.Although with those I don't think it is important to known if they are do follow or no follow because they carry enough authority regarding google eyes.A link is a link and with those kind of extention ( .edu and .gov ) they carry enough autthority to give you the juice you need for what you intend to do.

I agree it is a wonderful thing to have .edu and .gov links pointing back to your site, but finding one that allows you to make a post and leave a link to your site is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
