This is the fifth post in the series of posts regarding to “How to Create a Powerful Blog” topic. Previously, I’ve show you why to use a Wordpress as your main blogging system, how to choose a domain name and web hosting for your blog and how to successfully optimize your blog for the search engines. Today, I’m going to help you to create a powerful blog article to receive the most functionality and productivity for your blog.
Blog post is one of the main thing on every blog. If you write a powerful, effective and useful posts, you might get more and more quality visitors from all main sources on the internet. In this post, I’ll try to show you how to create an article that your visitors should enjoy in.
Facts to Know at Beginning
Below facts are most useful for you, try to remember them if you want to create a powerful article.
- Uniqueness is the key – And I really think that… Unique and helpful articles are way to better and one of the most important things you should know before you write an article for your blog or a website. Try always to create a unique article on your site – believe me, your work will be rewarded later.
- Article size – Many webmasters and bloggers ask themselves this question. I’d say that the medium-rate post size is the best way to write. Most visitors doesn’t like when they see the endless amount of text on one page. Your size should be approx. 2-3 window size limit.
- Your site niche – Take care to post only related articles and posts to your site niche. With this you may build up an loyal community around your site – from the quality visitors around the world.
Effective Article Types
There’re a few article types which you can write on your blog or a website. I’ll list the most effective ones.
- Helpful Articles – These articles have a really nice effect for the related customers (visitors). If you help them out to solve their problems, they might back again and again to your site. This is for sure, the most effective way to get a loyal visitors for free. For the example, these articles are: “How-to” Guides, Tips & Tricks…
- Article Listings – Today, article lists are one of the most successful article types. They’re very useful to the end-user (your visitors) and they have a huge sharing-potential. Most sites that make this kind of articles have a very good growth-rating. To produce “the list” can take much more time, specially if you decide to post 50, 100 or even more listings on your post – but it’s definitely worth.
- Personal Posts – Also known as personal blog or diary blog. Visitors tend to read the personal things from other ones. There’re a lot bloggers which have a pretty successful blogs under this niche. If you want others to know what’re you doing or thinking – it’s the great way to express yourself to the potential huge audience.
For me, these are the most effective article types for your blog or a website. Of course, you can post about anything you want, but I recommend you to always post something related to your site niche.
Do Some Research
The post you’re going to write on your blog is probably existing somewhere on the internet. I think about the related posts with similar or same title. So, you definitely need to be an original and unique to get the best possible effect.
Personally, I try to find as much information I can – using many techniques. Following include:
- Search Engines – Of course, I try to find the similar or related posts through search engines. I do research mostly on the Google. When I found a few interesting articles, I read them all and write down my own unique article. If some things can’t be changed, I only re-arrange them to look different.
- Knowledge – You’ll need to know something about an article you’re writing at your blog. Knowing absolutely nothing, you’ll take so much more time to research and writing a post for your blog.
- Forums, Blogs and Videos – Try to find related information anywhere you can. I tend to browse the forums and related blogs to find more information, also to find out what should I post next on my blog. Good way is to search on the YouTube for the related information – there have to be at least one related video.
Once you found the information you’re looking for, it’s time to create a successful and productive title for your blog. I recommend you to use the most descriptive titles for your articles. Keep in mind to place some main keywords in your article title, because this way you may improve traffic from search engines and better optimization.
Write your Article
When you have a topic, title and all necessary information, it’s time to begin writing. I recommend you to have the following elements in each article you write:
- Introduction – Tell people what they’re expecting to see and what they’ll learn if they read your article.
- Use Tags – Use the h2, h3, h4 or h5 tags in your article for easier reading and organizing your article.
- Conclusion – It’s always good to give the conclusion (final thoughts) at the end of each article.
Of course, you need to build-up your own, original and unique writing style. Try not to copy your competition and write something new and fresh anytime you can on your blog.
It’s very important to double-check your article when you finish it! This may improve the quality of your post because you’ll correct eventual mistakes in the post – which may occur of course.
How Much to Post
This is one of the main questions regarding to this topic. Bloggers and webmasters usually ask themselves how much to post per month to build up good and powerful blog. I’d say that you should post an quality article anytime you have some time to do it. Keep note that’s better to post 1 quality article per day than 10 not-quality. In this case, it’s all up to the quality – not quantity.
Let’s discover and explore some facts here:
Let’s say you post a 30 quality written articles per month, that’s averagely 1 post per day. That can guarantee your site to be crawled daily from the search engines to find the newest posts on your blog. Of course, the more posts you write, the more potential visitors you might get from the search engines.
The more quality posts almost 100% guarantee you the success in the future. But, of course, it may take some quality time for you. If you have some spare time – it’s always good to write down the quality article on your blog.
I recommend you to update your blog at the regular-basis – at least 1 time per 2 days!
To have a constantly updated blog, you might get more and more quality loyal visitors from all sources. This may strongly affect your subscribers count and all traffic in the general.
