2. Informational Posts
The informational post is the most common type of blog post you can find through the internet. This way you get your potential readers the information they’re looking for. Informational posts are very popular on the internet, from the beginning till now.
3. Personal Posts
Personal posts are very popular posts too. People tend to like to read the personal things from others. There’re so many blogs on the internet which are maintained by the personal bloggers. Most blogs on the free-hosting blogging solutions are usually related to the personal types of blog posts. Also known as diary blogs.
4. Review Posts
Review is the highly-searched term on the internet. Every time I search for some kind of a product or service on the internet, I firstly try to find the reviews for that specific service or a product. You can practically find the review for every service or product you’re looking for on the internet.
5. Instructional Posts
Instructional posts actually tell people what and how to do something. They’re one of the most popular types of blog posts on the internet. They’re so popular because you’re helping other visitors by telling them how to solve their problems. I tend to post as much of these posts because they can attract more traffic than other post types.
6. Post Interviews
Interview posts are very popular posts too. They’re quite popular on the internet. This is a great way to provide your readers a relevant expert’s opinion. Also, good way to get some quality traffic to your blog or a website.
7. Case Studies
Case studies are the long posts which usually include many information about a related research term. These posts usually looks like the review posts, but includes much more specific information. Case study posts are very popular and can attract you more visitors. Through, you can spend a lot of time to create it.
8. Profile Posts
Profile posts are very similar to the case studies, but they’re concentrated on a particular person. It’s very good to post about your own achievements, success stories and other characteristics. These posts are very attractive to your loyal readers which want to know more about your story.
9. Inspirational Posts
The inspirational or motivational posts are very effective and popular these days. Readers like to read the articles from the inspirational authors. People like to hear good news and stories that can motivate them to do something they like.

The image posts are the posts which have more images than textual contents. Some bloggers only post an unique images as their posts, trying to say something with less or no textual contents at all.

Debates do well on the blogs too. I’ve always liked the debates in the school, and always enjoy in them. I wish there’re more debate-related posts on the blogs through the internet. Most popular blogs and sites makes some kind of the debates through their own blogs, luring all commentators into the debate.
14. Political Posts
Of course, there’re so many political-related blogs and sites on the internet. But, many other bloggers and webmasters tends to write something related to the politics, displaying their own thoughts and opinions to the public. These posts are very effective during the elections in your country, or important political event in the world.
15. Project Posts
Most popular bloggers and webmasters own their own projects and products which they want to sell or promote to you. You should expect from these bloggers, from time to time to post little more about their own projects and products. Letting you to know more about their own project or product.
16. Hypothetical Posts
I personally have not post the hypothetical post yet. I usually like to read them when information I looking for is related to the specific term. These posts are usually searchable through the “What if” term. For example: “What If Microsoft give Windows for free?”, or posts similar to that.
17. Prediction Posts
I specially like to read the prediction posts related to my niche. They can give you a lot of traffic, but they’re not quite popular on the internet – according to other types of blog posts. Usually concentrate about the specific term and predictions about it in the future.
18. Collaboration Posts
Collaboration posts are quite popular among popular blogs and websites through the internet. This means that more than one blogger or a webmaster concentrate making one (or more) top-quality posts together. This way you can save the time for creating a post and improve your overall post quality as well.
19. Link Posts
I personally hate these posts. They’re not quality and most importantly – not unique. Unfortunately, they’re very popular among the bloggers. Many of them simply copy-paste a whole text from the other blogs and posting them on their own sites or a blogs. In most cases, they’ll mention the source of that copied article in the post footer.
20. Post Series
Series of posts are the multiple posts concentrated into the similar or the same niche, merged and composed together. I really don’t know why, but this kind of posts are not popular on the internet. Through, I find them very useful and interesting. Bloggers usually post about their own reports about anything like Visitors reports, traffic reports, earnings reports… Of course, you can find the monthly traffic reports from this blog.
22. Charity Posts
Among popular bloggers and webmasters, charity posts are quite popular. Thanks to the blog traffic and loyal visitors, bloggers tend to attract their visitors to make a charity through their own blogs. Giving them some kind of commission for that or nothing at all. I usually don’t like to post these kind of posts, I’m going to when my traffic grows a little bit more.
23. Step by Step Posts
Step by Step, or Posts for Dummies are very popular and one of the favorite posts I like to read. They give you the all necessary information and step-by-step guides how to fix the specific problem you’re looking for. Also, they can fit nicely into any niche and can get you more traffic and visitors from more sources. People like to learn something new, specially if it’s easy as 1, 2, 3…
24. Post Contest
The post contests are created just because one reason – to get some new loyal visitors and traffic to the blog. Most sites organize from time to time contests and offer their readers a valuable prizes in some kind of the exchange. Most of the contests are based on the free-submission and participation, so you don’t have to spend anything except little time to do something what a particular blogger ask you to.
25. Automated Posts
I didn’t put this type at the end just randomly, I put it because of the reason. I really, really hate this kind of blog posts. Unfortunately, there’re more and more automated blogs every day on the internet. These “bloggers” uses a scripts and special tools to search through the internet and copy the articles, related to their search on their own blogs and sites. Automatically, without any additional interaction. These types of blog posts are the worst possible way to maintain your blog. I think about it as a spam – there’s a content, but it’s strongly not useful for anyone.
