Alien Arena 2008 Online FPS Game

Alien Arena 2008 is full free open-source game based on code released by Id Software. It’s the deathmatch game type with nice graphic, specially for free open-source game type. Alien Arena is mainly online Mutliplayer FPS (reminds me a lot like Quake with style of play). Through, single player is available through average bots.

The game combines a 1950’s-era sci-fi atmosphere with gameplay similar to the Quake, Doom, and Unreal Tournament series. Because of GNU open-source code, this game is available on multiple systems like Linux, FreeBSD and Windows. Currently, it seems that this game is not working on Mac OS.

Gameplay

There are 60 standard maps to choose from, 5 playable characters, 9 weapons with alternate fires, and a grappling hook. The game features an internal server browser for finding other players online, and the external Galaxy program performs the same function without having to launch the game.
