Affiliate programs or affiliate marketing is an internet based marketing with which you can earn money by referring your site visitors to advertiser product or service pages. Unline other earning methods, with affiliate programs you will not be paid for every click in most cases. You will be paid only if and when you lead someone to buy or purchase certain product from advertiser sites.
Affiliate networks are very popular these days between webmasters and bloggers on the internet. Also, you have many quality and thrusted affiliate networks with huge advertiser databases! I will review and post details later in this category!
For me, biggest advantage of using affiliate programs have sites or blogs with higher amount of quality traffic. So, I’d recommend you to target on contextual or any other Ad Networks before your site grows. By this grows term I mean when you have better traffic for your sites. Simply because you won’t be paid for every click compared to advertisement networks.
Affiliate programs usually have much higher earning potential than any other ad network curently available on the internet. With these programs, advertisers woul’d pay you commissions for your leads or sales through your links or banners. Every affiliate publisher can choose which link or banner to put on his web site or blog and which lead or sale commission to accept!
Leads or Sales – Which to choose ?
Choose for leads or sales is depending up to you and your site traffic. For sale comissions, you will get much better earnings of course. But it’s little hard to expect that few users that come to your site (if you have low traffic) would make sale from your own links, right?
For affiliate beginners, I’d recommend to find advertisers which pays for leads or both commissions! Simply because for relatively low traffic to their web sites, they can get more earnings for leads to specific advertiser pages! Low lead commissions gives companies that have free registrations or free services included in their programs, and your referred visitor don’t need to make sale for you to earn some cash!
